Chaired by Philippe Jost, president of the Public Establishment, the Board of Administration comprises representatives of all the bodies involved in the project: the State, the Diocese of Paris, and the City of Paris, as well as qualified independent figures chosen for their experience in the Establishment’s areas of competence.

In addition to the president of the Public Establishment, the members of the Board of Administration are:

  • The secretary general of the Ministry of Culture or a representative thereof
  • The director general of heritage and architecture or a representative thereof
  • The director of the budget or a representative thereof
  • The director general for globalisation, culture, teaching and international development or a representative thereof
  • The general delegate for employment and professional training or a representative thereof
  • The Prefect of the Ile-de-France region or a representative thereof
  • The Mayor of Paris or a representative thereof
  • The Archbishop of Paris or a representative thereof
  • Three qualified figures: Christine Albanel, Bruno Racine, Jean-Pierre Weiss
  • An elected representative of Establishment personnel: Frédérique Meyer

 

Attending board meetings in an advisory capacity:

  • The delegate director general: Maryline Guiry
  • The financial controller and accountant for the Ministry of Culture: Bernard Geoffroy
  • The accountant of the Public Establishment: Sabine Laubertin

Working in an advisory capacity alongside the Board of Administration, to which it presents a yearly analysis of the Establishment’s financial and economic position, the committee monitors the financing and implementation of expenses and assesses the quality of internal control of budgets, accounting and risk management.

The committee is chaired by: Jean-Pierre Weiss

 

The other three members of the committee are:

  • The director of the budget or a representative thereof
  • The director general of heritage and architecture or a representative thereof
  • Jean Gautier, outside expert, honorary master counsellor at the Cour des Comptes

 

Two statutory participants: 

  • Bernard Geoffroy, financial controller and ministerial accountant for the Ministry of Culture or a representative thereof
  • Sabine Laubertin, accountant of the Public Establishment or a representative thereof

Working alongside the president of the Public Establishment, the Scientific Board is consulted on studies and operations concerning the conservation and restoration of the cathedral. It comprises fourteen members appointed by the Minister of Culture from candidates recommended by the president of the Public Establishment on the basis of their expertise.
  • Christophe d’Alessandro, organist and research director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
  • Damien Berné, chief heritage curator in charge of sculpture at the Musée de Cluny
  • Gisella Capponi, honorary director of the Higher Institute of Conservation and Restoration in Rome
  • Philippe Dillmann, research director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, coordinator of research on behalf of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral
  • Anne Dion, chief heritage curator, deputy director of the Decorative Arts Department at the Musée du Louvre
  • Père Gilles Drouin, director of the Theology Institute at the Institut Catholique de Paris, appointed by the Archbishop of Paris to lead reflection on the liturgical reorganisation of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral
  • Christine Gouzi, professor of art history at Sorbonne Université, religious painting specialist
  • Jean-Michel Leniaud, director of studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, honorary director of the École des Chartes, president of the Société des Amis de Notre-Dame de Paris
  • François Loyer, honorary research director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, honorary director of the Commission du Vieux Paris, specialist on 19th-century architecture and urbanism
  • Benjamin Mouton, chief architect for historic monuments, former vice-president of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS)
  • Charles Personnaz, director of the Institut national du patrimoine
  • Dany Sandron, professor of art history at Sorbonne Université, director at the Centre André Chastel
  • Marie-Anne Sire, general inspector of historic monuments

With no equivalent in any other public establishment, the Committee of Donors, chaired by General Jean- Louis Georgelin, is a place of exchange and dialogue where the representatives of donors can be informed about the progress of work and the use of gifts.
