The vault of the transept crossing has recovered its framework!&nbsp;The stonecutters and masons have finished positioning the stone blocks one by one on the wooden arches that constitute the four diagonal arches of the crossing. They thus form the framework of this future vault situated right in the heart of the cathedral.&nbsp;They have also positioned the four cherub heads surrounding the oculus, the stone ring that acts as a keystone. They were first sculpted at the very foot of Notre Dame, in a sculptor's lodge installed for this purpose.&nbsp;The mortar of the arches will now dry before receiving the vaultings that will definitively close the vault. In the meantime, the scaffolding at the crossing will rise up through the arches to erect the spire!

La voûte de la croisée du transept a retrouvé son ossature !&nbsp;Les maçons-tailleurs de pierre ont achevé de poser un à un sur les cintres en bois les blocs de pierre qui constituent les quatre arcs diagonaux de la croisée. Ils forment ainsi l’ossature de cette future voûte située en plein cœur de la cathédrale.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ils ont également posé les quatre têtes d’angelots qui ceinturent l’oculus, cet anneau de pierre faisant office de clé de voûte. Ils ont été sculptés auparavant aux pieds même de Notre-Dame, dans une loge de sculpteurs installée à cet effet.&nbsp;&nbsp;Le mortier des arcs va maintenant sécher avant de recevoir les voûtains qui fermeront définitivement la voûte. Entre temps, l’échafaudage de la croisée s’élèvera à travers les cintres pour édifier la flèche.
